Abdominoplasty, better known as a “tummy tuck,” is an aesthetic surgical procedure in which we remove excess fat and skin from your middle and lower abdomen, then tighten the muscle and connective tissue in the abdominal wall. This makes your stomach thinner and firmer while reducing your waistline.
Your recovery from a tummy tuck depends on the extent of your procedure. A so-called modified tummy tuck will likely have a shorter recovery than a full tummy tuck with liposuction. You can expect about two weeks to recover and resume sedentary work and three or four weeks to return to exercise and other activities.
